FAQs

What key items are needed in a baby nursery?

Understandably the most important item is a bassinet or crib, followed by the mattress and don’t forget a waterproof mattress cover or two! Sheets for your little one’s mattress, a nursing chair, change mat and cover and storage are a few key items we recommend you have in your baby nursery.

When should you start creating a baby nursery?

The earlier the better, this give you more time to prepare and takes the stress away when it gets closer to the birth date. It also gives you some extra time in case the baby arrives earlier than expected. In saying this, we understand that these things do get away from us as we all live busy lives. Our Babyroad experts are here to help you and ease the stress so you can focus on what’s important.

When does a baby sleep in its nursery?

This depends on the baby, however it is recommended that they start to sleep in their own room anytime between 6 to 12 months. This helps to promote healthy sleep patterns before the onset of separation anxiety.

When should a baby sleep with a blanket?

Your little ones should not sleep with a blanket, pillows or any other loose bedding up until the age of at least 1, or when they can roll themselves from their back to their tummy and back again. If unsure, speak to our Babyroad experts here.
